Our markets
Solar energy
Solar is currently the fastest growing power generation technology in the world.
Solar energy is the conversion of sunlight into usable energy forms. Solar photovoltaics (PV) is a well-established solar technology, that combines two advantages: module manufacturing can be done in large plants, which allows for economies of scale, and it is also a very modular technology and can be deployed in very small quantities at a time. This allows for a wide range of applications. Systems can be very small, from personal electronics or off-grid applications, up to utility-scale power generation facilities.
Global energy demand continues to grow with a strong shift towards renewables. Solar PV will dominate renewable energy capacity additions in the next decades and multiply by 4x the generation of the energy mix by 2040.

GLOBAL INSTALLED CAPACITY (TW)

CAGR 16-40 BREAKDOWN (%)

Global weighted average LCOE for solar PV has fallen by 72% since 2010, becoming more competitive vis a vis other technologies.

The cost reduction is enabling the surge of new verticals within solar technology, increasing the capacity additions expected for solar PV. New verticals such as storage, Green Hydrogen, Floating solar or solar desalination plants are new fast-growing markets.

Our countries
Enerside has presence in markets with
high solar irradiance

Enerside was founded in Spain in 2007, with headquarters in Barcelona and offices in Madrid.
With a country population of 47million, the 2021 expected GDP is about to grow by 6.5%, one of the highest growths within OCDE countries.
Spain is prioritising climate change issues and align its goals with EU objectives and ambitions. Therefore, it aims to produce >50% of its energy from renewables sources by 2030. Spanish solar market can grow by 3.0-3.5 GW pa, from 7GW of installed capacity in 2019 to c.40GW in 2030.
Enerside entered in Brazil in 2014 and has offices in Sao Paulo, Fortaleza and Belo Horizonte. Since then, the company has created a strong local team with a long track record in construction of different projects.
With a country population of more than 211 million, the 2021 expected GDP is about to grow by 3.7%. Brazil’s accession to the OECD is a top priority of the Government.
Solar is the most competitive source of renewable energy in Brazil. It was installed a record-level 2.1 GW of new solar PV capacity in 2019, more than doubling its achievement in 2018.
With offices in Santiago since 2015 and with a team of more than 30 people, Chile is one of the main markets for Enerside. The country has a population of 19million people and is expected to grow by more than 6% in 2021 according to IMF.
With the highest solar irradiance on earth, Chile has the lowest solar energy costs of all OECD countries. The expected renewable capacity is about to double in the next decade, from 12GW as of 2019 to 24 in 2030.
With offices in Montevideo, Enerside has an interesting pipeline of c.170MW in Uruguay. The country has a population of 3.5million people and is expected to grow at 3.0 in 2021 according to IMF.
Solar Energy is part of Uruguay’s Energy Policy. It has as one of its objectives, the diversification of the energy matrix making a strong bet for the incorporation of renewable sources. Photovoltaic Solar Energy facilities in Uruguay have grown exponentially over the past 5 years, from 0 to >250MW in 2019.
With offices in Lima, Enerside has a strong interest in the country thanks to its hight solar irradiance and commitment of its government to move towards a carbon-free economy by 2050. With 16GW of renewable capacity installed as of 2019, the country has a population of 33million people and is expected to grow at 8.5 in 2021 according to IMF.
With offices in Santo Domingo, Enerside has a strong interest within the region, where it has developed a vertically integrated utility in collaboration with the World Bank in order to provide energy to more than three cities.
Enerside entered Italy in January 2022 with the acquisition of a portfolio of assets through an M&A transaction with a local partner, who has a strong knowledge of the Italian market.
With a population of more than 59 million, the OECD forecasts GDP growth of 4.6% and 2.6% for 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Italy’s government has put energy and climate at the center of its political agenda.
The national energy and climate plan set very ambitious targets for renewables by 2030 with the aim of reaching 30% in total energy consumption and 55% in electricity generation.
With offices in Mexico City, and with a country with a great solar resource, Enerside has specialized in the realization of industrial self-consumption installations (distributed generation).
With a population of more than 130 million people, Mexico is an industrial powerhouse with great potential for distributed generation.
In 2021, historical maximums were reached, and 480 MW were added, exceeding the 2 GW operating under this segment. According to the Energías Limpias México from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the technical potential in the country would reach 24,918 GW of photovoltaic solar energy in large-scale projects and distributed generation.

Located in the municipality of Ovalle in the IV region of Chile, the solar park of Santa Clara was developed by Enerside in 2019.
The Santa Clara Project was won by Enerside in 2018 on the occasion of the tender launched by Impulso and DISA S.A. for the construction and operation of solar energy plant of 3,32 MWp.
The construction of the farm began at the end of 2018, and the site came into service in the beginning of 2019 (COD). Its current operation and maintenance is provided by Enerside.
The Customer has trusted in Enerside, awarding again the service after the end of the first contract signed for 2 years of duration. Thanks to the success of the project the client extended the same service for other photovoltaic plants in Chile allowing Enerside to increase its assets under management.
For each of its facilities, Enerside has demonstrated an eco-responsible industrial approach, demonstrating exemplary project management.
